色は、黒か濃いめのキャメルか絶妙なグレージュ。
着ない時は腰巻きにも出来る柔らかめのラムレザー。
デザインはシンプルなシングルライダース、金具もあまり主張しない真鍮色やレザーと同色だと尚良し。
旅先では、朝は現地のヨガレッスンに参加、午後からは歩き回って観光し、繁華街でハイブランドもチェック。
夜は少しドレスアップしてディナー。
この全てに対応してくれるのが、私にとってはレザーライダース。
肌寒い早朝のヨガの時は、お出掛け用のヨガウェアの上からライダースを羽織ります。
最後のシャバアサナの時は冷えやすい足に掛けるブランケット代わりにも。
歩き回っての観光には、スニーカーやフラットシューズと合わせて。陽射しが出て暑くなってくれば、腰巻きにして両手を空けて歩けます。
繁華街では、お洒落な雑貨屋さんやハイブランドのお店に入る時にもサッと羽織ってレザーのラグジュアリー感を借ります。
ディナーの時には、ドレスの肩を隠し袖を通さず羽織って入店、席に着き照明が暗くなると脱ぎます。
また、乗り物内の温度調節にも便利ですよね。
楽しい旅にするために、移動中は快適に過ごしたいので軽くて楽な羽織物は必須。
私はライダースもその選択肢の一つ。
ライダースがあれば、インナーはコットンのTシャツやカシミヤのニット、シルクのブラウスやリネンのカーディガンなど、何を合わせても失敗しません。
今年は黒のライダースを新調しようと色々見ていますが、好みの形と金具の色がなかなか一致せず。
メンズの方が私好みの物があるので、そちらでも探しています。
メンズの良さは、無駄な装飾が省かれている事。黒ライダースに合わせて金具もマットな黒の物などがあります。
レディースの様に、極端にウエストを絞った物が少ない事で、着こなしの選択肢が増えます。
レディースによくあるウエストシェイプのレザーライダースは着るだけでスタイル良く見せてくれますが、上半身の印象を変えにくいと言うデメリットがあります。
対してメンズは、やはり女性が着るには肩幅が大きくのっぺりとした印象になってしまいます。
そのちょうど中間のシルエットの、ユニセックスに着られる物が最近は増えて来ましたよね。
ユニセックスやメンズは特に色が絶妙なグレージュが多いので、グレージュ好きの私にはたまりません。
ZOZOTOWNなどで、性別問わずライダースで検索して、目に留まるのは大体メンズです。絶妙なグレージュにくすんだ色のカットソー合わせをするメンズコーデの仕上げ方にうっとりします。
海外のファッションスナップの花形、ミラネーゼのそれです。髪や瞳の色とリンクさせた着こなしは流石のひとこと。典型的な日本人の髪色と瞳の色の私でも挑戦したくなります。
そのイメージに近付くべく選んだここ数年のお気に入りが、モカキャメルのシングルレザーライダース。
この季節は中にハイゲージのスキンニットやコットンシャツを合わせて。もう少し暖かくなるとTシャツやタンクトップ、シルクTシャツ。真夏はお休みして、秋口にはまたロンTと共に復活します。
冬になると、カシミヤのタートルを入れて、上からダウンやウールのコートを羽織り、レザーグローブを合わせて。
レザーライダースの底力は侮れません。ヘビロテになる分、お手入れが大変そうですが、着る前に防水スプレーを振っていれば汚れても落ちやすく、たまにクリームを塗るくらいでOKです。
唯一気をつけたいのが日焼け。衣裳部屋の照明でも焼けることがあるので、照明との距離には注意が必要。
お手入れもそれほど面倒では無いのに、3シーズンしっかり着回し出来る。
それがレザーライダースの底力。
ここは投資の価値あり。
じっくり選んで、自分に合う物を愛用したいですね。

The latent energy of leather riders
If I had to take just one piece of outerwear on my trip, it would be a leather rider! I will answer immediately.
The color is black, dark camel or exquisite glaze.
Soft lamb leather that can be wrapped around the waist when not worn.
The design should be a simple single rider, and the hardware should be brass-colored or the same color as the leather, so as not to make too much of a statement.
When traveling, I attend a local yoga class in the morning and go sightseeing in the afternoon, walking around and checking out high brands in the downtown area.
In the evening, dress up a bit for dinner.
For me, leather riders can handle all of this.
For chilly early morning yoga classes, I throw on a pair of riders over my go-to yoga wear.
During shavasana at the end of the day, I also use it as a blanket for my legs, which tend to get cold easily.
For walking around and sightseeing, I pair it with sneakers or flat shoes. When the sun comes out and it gets hot, you can wrap it around your waist and walk with your hands free.
In the downtown area, you can borrow the luxury of leather by quickly throwing it on when entering a fashionable grocery store or a high-brand store.
At dinner, you enter the restaurant wearing a cloak without sleeves, covering the shoulders of your dress, and take it off when you are seated and the lights are dark.
It is also useful for adjusting the temperature in the airplane cabin.
To make the trip enjoyable, I want to be comfortable while traveling, so light and comfortable feathers are essential.
Riders are one of those options for me.
With a rider, you can never go wrong with anything as an inner layer, such as a cotton T-shirt, cashmere knit, silk blouse, or linen cardigan.
I’ve been looking at a lot of black riders to get a new pair this year, but the shape I like and the color of the hardware don’t quite match.
I’m looking for something more to my liking in the men’s section, so I’m looking there as well.
The good thing about the men’s version is that it is free from unnecessary decorations. For example, there are matte black hardware to match the black riders.
There are fewer items with extremely narrow waists like women’s items, which gives you more options for dressing up.
While the waist-shape leather riders often seen on women’s wear can be styled just by wearing them, they have the disadvantage that it is difficult to change the impression of the upper half of the body.
In contrast, men’s leather riders have broad shoulders and give a flabby impression when worn by women.
Recently, there has been an increase in the number of unisex wearable items with silhouettes that fall right in between the two.
Unisex and men’s items are especially exquisite in color, and I am a lover of glazes.
When I search ZOZOTOWN for riders of any gender, the ones that catch my eye are usually men’s. I am enchanted by the way men’s coordinates are finished by matching exquisite glazes with dusky-colored cut-and-sew.
This is the style of Milanese, the flower of overseas fashion snapshots. The way the color is linked to the color of the hair and eyes is a masterpiece. Even I, with typical Japanese hair and eye color, want to try it.
My favorite item of the past few years, which I have chosen to approach this image, is a single leather rider in mocha camel.
In this season, I wear it with a high gauge skin knit or cotton shirt. When the weather gets a little warmer, I wear a T-shirt, tank top, or silk T-shirt. I take a break in midsummer and come back with long T-shirts in early fall.
In winter, add a cashmere turtle, a down or wool coat over the top, and leather gloves.
The latent energy of leather riders cannot be underestimated. It may seem difficult to care for them because they are so heavy-duty, but if you shake waterproof spray on them before wearing, they are easy to clean off even if they get dirty, and you only need to apply cream occasionally.
The only thing to watch out for is sunburn. Even the lighting in the garment room can burn, so be careful about the distance from the lighting.
It is not so troublesome to care for, yet it can be worn for three seasons.
That is the fundamental power of leather riders.
It is worth the investment.
